Echo Bay Model Boat

a scaled down boatbuilding project

The 12' Echo Bay was scaled down to create a quarter scale model. This model is about 35" long x 12 1/2" wide and made from birch plywood and solid wood components. It is shipped with all wood components, sail, hardware, supplies and instructions in a long, flat box: 39" x 12 x 2". Some tools required and explained in manual. Full customer building support included by phone, email, or video call.

This kit comes with the pre-cut plywood, solid wood parts, and parts to make the sail. Instructions are included with a list of tools and supplies needed. A few small items such as glue and some small tools are not included. Shipping will be additional $50.00, approximately.

built like the actual boat

The model is unique in that it build very similarly to the full size boat. The 1/8" thick plywood hull sides are attached at the bow and bent around a bulkhead, frame and an aft bulkhead and transom. The bottom is attached. Wires "stitch" the boat together until the crazy glue cures.

Sprit sail

An opaque white, Mylar sprit sail with metal grommet rings is included in the kit. Wood dowels are used to make the sail rig. A rudder and daggerboard are included. 

Finished with varnish and paint and a mahogany stand underneath, this would be an eye catching addition to any home, office, or shop.
