This is an 18-1/2' x 4' speed demon meant to race open waters such as 'round Cape Ann (Blackburn Challenge) or for fast rowing in any waters. Designed to maximize speed but still be aesthetically pleasing.
Calendar Islands Yawl 18
An enlarged version of the already popular CIY 16, this will offer great capacity and more sail area. The rig will likely stay as a lug-yawl. The CIY 18 will represent the top end of the sail-and-oar spectrum, as far as size of boat is concerned. There is another boat that could come from this, more of a daysailor, with a deck and coamings and perhaps a sloop rig.
Outboard Skiff 13
This is an outboard skiff designed to teach as much as it is to be a great platform for picnics and fishing or just planing around. The side planks on this boat will use the tab-n-lock construction method, but the final step will be a sheerstrake that laps over the side plank...a good intro to the concept of glued-lapstrake construction.
Drake 17 Rowboat MkII
Time to apply a great deal of learning from over the years. The Drake was my first design/build project. With support, I would like to refair the hull lines, redo the strongback to reflect current practices, and redraft the set of plans to bring them up to spec.
8' Pram based on Gardner Pram
I took the John Gardner Pram from his book and made a kit for a student. The boat was built and looks great. This would be a nice project for someone wishing to build their own tender. But some development time remains. I'll need an order or two or someone to help fund the rest of the work needed to make a kit.
Compass Skiff 12'
We can make a kit for a 12' foot version of the Compass Skiff. Other dimensions would likely stay the same, but length would be increased to 12-feet. The original 10' Compass Skiff was recently launched.
Long Double Paddle Canoe/Kayak
This is a Roger Long boat that is beautiful and functional and people have been buying plans for it, but I would like to see it as a kit. If you are interested, contact me.
This is a boat by a retired naval architect named Gerry Stensgaard. I would like to make this beautiful 13-footer a design project. Wouldn't you like to help?
