Topmount oarlocks are a nice way to go. Here they are mounted to walnut pads, which are screwed and glued to the gunwales.
An easy way to create flotation is by fitting 2" standard, blue construction under the seats.
Always fit a half-oval to protect bow, keel and skeg.
Fancy seat work
This customer wanted the frames and seats varnished to show off her construction. The seats are Eastern White Spruce with decorative, tight knots.
